|Q: I see you offer some discounts for larger quantities. Can I mix colors or designs to meet quantity discounts?|
A. Sorry, but no. The quantity discounts are designed for quantities of the exact same item.
Q: What exactly do you need for resale information?
A. We only sell to customers who sell candles and/or gift items and will resell our products. We are basically just looking for something that will substantiate that a new customer will be reselling our products. The easiest way to do this is to fax the information to 408-773-9418 or scan and email. Every city and state is different so we are flexible and will accept a resale license, a seller's permit, a business license, a federal tax ID (EIN), a state tax ID or equivalent. We do want an actual copy so we request that the document be faxed or scanned and emailed to email@example.com. The email address firstname.lastname@example.org also works. The number only is not sufficient. The document must relate to selling candles or gift items.
We understand that in some states or circumstances, an actual license may not be required by the state and none may be available. In those cases, we have accepted links to web sites, copies of brochures or other substantiation. If you are a distributor for Scent-Sations, a link to your Scent-Sations or other candle related web site is all we need. If you are a distributor for Candle Wealth, all we need is some substantiation of this.
For customers in California, unfortunately we cannot make any exceptions with respect to the need for a copy of a license. We require a signed copy of a "Resale Certificate" which we will provide you, as well as a copy of a Seller's Permit from the State Board of Equalization. This is necessitated by the State Board of Equalization in California. For customers in California, links to web sites, copies of brochures or other substantiation are not sufficient.
If you are uncomfortable providing the actual tax number, please black out the number on your document before faxing or scanning. We are much more interested in knowing that you have a business selling our products than having the actual tax number.
Q: What size candle jars do your candle accessories fit?
A: Most of our jar candle accessories are deigned to fit standard round apothecary jar candles such as Yankee Candle and Bridgewater Candle. These candles have a round opening on the top equal to about 2-15/16 inches. The outside diameter is about 4 inches. Our jar shades and jar candle toppers fit inside the openings and the Candle Crowns and Candle Crown Toppers fit outside. The Candle Cachepots and Cachepot Warmers of course also fit outside the jars. The heating plate on our candle warmers is typically 4 inches in diameter.
Our baby jar shades are designed to fit baby apothecary jar candles from these same companies. These jars have an opening diameter of approximately 1-3/4 inches and a total diameter of about 2-1/2 inches.
We also have shades for Colonial At Home oval jars in all three sizes.
In determining whether our accessories will fit your jars, the diameter of the opening and the diameter of the jar is more important than the ounces. If you are unsure as to whether they will fit, you may purchase a sample by emailing us at email@example.com with your address and credit card and what sample you want. We will also need the same resale information as with a regular order. We will charge your card for the sample and freight. It is very expensive to ship products back and we want to make sure they work for you first.
Q: How do your electric burners work?
A: Some burners work using a 25 watt light bulb, which heats the ceramic and melts the wax very slowly, maximizing the fragrance time. Some use a heating plate. The tin burners use 40 watt torpedo bulbs and the plug-in burners use small 15 watt bulbs. Each item's description should refer to whether it uses a bulb (and what type) or heating plate. Most electric burners are 2-piece items, so the top can be removed for cleaning.
Q: Where can I get replacement bulbs for the electric burners?
A: All of our electric burners take "candelabra base" light bulbs. You can use any 15, 25 or 40 watt bulb with a candelabra base as long as it physically fits the burner. The bulb does not have to be the exact shape as the bulbs we supply with the burners. You can also use 40 watt bulbs, which will melt the wax much faster, but makes the ceramic get very hot. We sell replacement bulbs. You can also typically purchase bulbs at any hardware store like Home Depot or mass merchant like Wal-Mart.
Q: Can I use oil or potpourri in the burners?
A: Most of our customers use wax, but our burners can also be used for potpourri or oil. Please follow the instructions from your oil or potpourri supplier as to how to use these products in a diffuser.
Q: What forms of payment do you take?
A: We accept Mastercard, VISA, American Express & Discover credit and debit cards. We also accept PayPal. Starting 6/2/09, when you pay by Mastercard, VISA, American Express or Discover, our web site will "authorize" but not charge your credit card or debit card, much like a hotel does when you check in. We charge the card on the day it ships.
If you prefer to have your card charged manually offline, please choose "Use Credit Card on File" or "Customer Will Call With Credit Card". We typically charge about 1/2 the order a day or two before it ships, and the remainder on the day the order ships. The percentages and days may vary. You may see two charges on your card which add up to the total invoice amount.
Q: How much do you charge for shipping?
A:OUR WEB SITE NOW CALCULATES UPS SHIPPING COSTS IN THE 48 STATES AND CANADA BASED ON THE WEIGHT OF THE PRODUCTS ORDERED, THE NUMBER OF BOXES AND THE ZIP CODE OF THE SHIPPING LOCATION. ANY CHANGES TO ORDERS MADE AFTER PLACING THE ORDER WILL AFFECT SHIPPING COSTS. The web site cannot calculate freight on orders over 150 pounds or USPS orders to Alaska, Hawaii and US possessions and these will be added later.
UPS charges are based on the weight and volume of the shipment, not the order total. Some items like Hanging Burners are bulky and shipping costs can be over 30% of the cost of goods. Sale items also have artifically low prices and high shipping costs relative to value. Shipping costs go up about 5% per year while our company has actually been lowering our prices, so the cost of shipping relative to product cost has been rising.
Q: I have a web site and want to sell your products over the internet. Can I use your pictures?

A. We will consider it; however, we have found that shipping is very expensive and not economical for most customers. Overseas shipping can be over $200 per box, or more than the cost of the products themselves.
